Crazy, Crazy Sunday Part1

I started my Sunday very very early. Slept at 2am, woke up at 3. Got ready, dressed up. It was going to be a long busy day.

First stop.

Clark Freeport, Pampanga for the New Balance Power Race. It would be my first time to join a 10kilometer run and I was feeling nervous (afraid I wouldn't be able to finish the race with just 1 hour sleep) and excited (running on new route is always exciting plus if I make it, I'm gonna have my first finisher medal!) at the same time.

The race started at around 5:50am. The weather was excellent for a race day, it was cool and cloudy (contrary to what I expected of a hot Clark weather). The route was interesting with rolling hills and the greens and the mountains and all. More importantly, the air was fresh! A perfect day running my first 10k! :)

During the first 2 kilometers, I actually thought I wasn't going to finish the race. I honestly thought of going back. My left ankle (with a history of chronic ankle sprain per the md at pain and rehab, damn those boots! lol) was acting up, it was aching so bad! But I just ignored it and suddenly, like a miracle, the pain was gone! :)

Good thing I brought an ipod and it was a great help! When I was feeling exhausted, I would sing out loud with the music, sometimes startling other runners. :)

Then I started talking to myself. lol With each kilometer marker that I'd pass by, I'll start chanting: "3 more kilometers... 3 more kilometers", "2 more kilometers Fiona, you can do it!" and "1 more, you're almost there... don't stop running now, don't slow down... go, go, go".

And it all worked for me! I finished the race and I had a great finish!!! :) According to the iPod's stopwatch, I completed the 10k course (ahem, my first try!!!) in 1 hour 12 mins and 36 seconds (I was expecting to finish it in 1hour and 35mins)! Woohoo! It must have been the weather... or the pepping, I don't know! :p

Overall, this was the best race I have attended so far. There were ample of water stations (giving out bottled water every 2.5k), there were plenty of marshals, there were markers for every kilometer. All finishers received medals, bananas, a bar of chocolate, magazines, energy drinks and goodiebags. There were even physical therapists who helped runners recover after the race!

And did I mention the cute guys! Oh. My. Gosh. The cute guys!!! There were a plenty!!! Oh my, oh my! lol I don't know where to look coz there really were a lot of gorgeous (and muscled) guys who ran that day! Isn't it a great feeling, cutey guys running after you or you chasing (and sometimes overtaking) buff men?

Oh what a day! And it still is just starting...

Si Angelina at si Yaya - Halloween Effectlavoo

I know super late na halloween post na ito. Hahaha. Pasensya na.

Ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to introduce Yaya (kaorkot edition)

Effort kung effort sa pagmumuk-up, spiel, and all pero in the end di sila pumunta sa department namin. Inis. Hahaha.

And now meet Angelina

After office, diretso kami sa Shake, Rattle, and RUN! The First Halloween 5K Night Fun Run sa Bonifacio Global City. At dahil costume-costuman itu, I decided to come as a running faery! ahihihihi.

Wonderwoman and Spartan Warrior

Find the Igorot guy

See you sa next race! Ready, Set, Run!

Kwentong Takbuhan

Bago ang kwento, kanta muna tayo, dedicated sayo.

You say, that you've always been true
Lookin' in your eyes, I see you lie
You're trying hard to hide that
There someone new you found and,
You want me to believe that you still care

How can you hurt me this way
Everything I knew was lovin' you
How could you try pretending
Your love was never ending

Now you can't even say that you will stay

How, how could you say you love me
When you would go and leave me
How could you make me hurt so bad
When I have loved you more than anyone can do
Can't believe the pain
That I'm feeling now because of loving

I can't seem to understand
How can love me so unkind
Still you broke my heart
Despite what I've done
Still my love was not enough
Though I given you my all
I can't take it anymore

O stop na ang atungal. Syet.

In fact, bawat lingo ng October may sinalihan akong takbo.

Takbo Breast Friend nung Oct 5 (around Ultra, Meralco Ave, J. Vargas, C5 then back to Ultra).

Dahil ba seksi ako tignan from the back at maganda ang butt ko?! Hmpt, kainis. Pero mas kainis dahil pag tapos nila ako iovertake at lingunin, parang sila pa yung maiinis. Baket, dahil wala akong breasts?

Adidas King of the Road sa the Fort nung Oct 11. Another sleepless race for me. Hmpt.

Botak Paabilisan sa the Fort nung Oct 19. Stand up and take action, support the Millennium Development Goals naman ang advocacy ng takbong ito. Hihihihi) Turned out na magkasabay palang tatakbo yung 10k at 5k runners. Hmpt. Kainis. Competitive pa naman ako! Hahahahaha.

Yung last na takbo ko for October sa next post ko na ikukwento. Inaantok na ko eh. Hahaha. O sya babush muna mga Ateng!

See you at the next race. Ready, Get Set, Run!

In case you're wondering, buhay pa ang princhecha, nakakatakbo pa, thank you girls very much!

Pasensya naman at eons ago pa since last akong nakapagupdate ditey.

O sya cge, meron akong excuse. Wala kasi akong jinternet kunekshun ngayon sa balaychina. hahaha. Pasensya, hampas lupa. Ahihihihi.

So ano palang updates meron aku?

Ayon sa website ng organizer ng run: "The campaign for a picture based health warning in tobacco products through the fun run last August 17, 2008 at the UP Diliman Campus was one big step in advancing the cause. With more than 500 participants, the Run 4 Ur Life raised awareness on and increase support of the Picture Based Health Warning Bill pending in the Senate and in the Congress."

Knowings nyo na ba 10 Filipinos die every hour due to cigarette smoking?

More than 40minutes ko natapos ang 5k!

Shushalin! May potential si lolo! I'm froud!

Bongga!

:) Magaling, magaling, magaling! Ilang beses akong napahagalpak! Kakatawa siya ha! Nakakaaliw ang mga lines. Bentang-benta! At halatang pinag-isipan! Clap, clap, clap! Aba, panoorin nyo na lang to find out! hihihihi.

Nakita ko din si Coco Martin! Naman! Kilig to the bones (with maihi-ihi effect) ang beauty ng princhecha, too bad nga lang nde ako nakapagdala ng digicam! Kainis!

At nakapagpaowtograph din ako kay direk! Hahahaha. Magiging collectors item din to balang araw! hihihihi

Tsaka may bonus na free CD pa pla ng Roxymorrons. Oh di ba sulit? hihihihi

Last but not the least!

Sambahin nyo sila! Char lang! :p

Kitakita sa races at sa cinema! Babuu!

(At, mahal ko kayong lahat! May ganun? hahahaha)

Fit&Fun Buddy Run

It was raining really hard when I woke up the morning of July 27th. Oh no!

Tumawag ako sa organizers ng run to confirm if the race would push thru even with the downpour and they said yes!

Nagbihis. Nag-almusal. Tumakbo for 10mins para warm up. Nagtaxi. Iniwan ang gamit sa baggage area. At syempre, nagboy watching. hahaha.

Sabi ng host na si Paolo Abreira bago magsimula ang takbuhan, "for a safe race, serious runners who would want to break their records should be in front, leisure runners who want to take it slow should stay at the back."

Naman! Syempre pa dun kami sa unahan pumwesto no! Serious runners ata kami!

(This race pala is sponsored by Robinson's Supermarket and is a buddy run, meaning, both partners should begin and finish the race together.

And then go na! Una kong ka-pace sila Abbey at Glady at yung iba pa naming ka grupo sa running club. Naiwanan na namin ang partner ko. Tas nung naisip ko na first run nya to at tumatakbo sya magisa, binalikan ko sya. Hala, naglalakad na agad ang bruha! Kamustahin, wala pang 1km yun!

So mega habol ulit ako sa iba. Tas may mga iba akong naunahan pa. In fernez, bumibilis ako ng konti! hahaha

Nakakatuwa yung ibang magpapartner! May isa akong nakita, yung isa medyo competitive, yung isa halatang napipilitan lang. So si competitive guy, tatakbo, babalikan si napipilitan guy, tas magpepep talk, "You can do it. Run! Go! I'll just walk for awhile!".

So mega hingal hingal na ko and everything!

Kaya mo yan!" hahaha.

Hello kuya, obvious ba?! Nakakaistress mag-antay in fernez.

52 mins. Yan ang time namin! Winnur!

Until the next race! Ready, set, run! :p

Princhecha Fiona's Run 2 @ OROFOLS

Having learned a few things from my first run, I was able to prepare better for this race.

I had a practice run two days before the race.
I bought a new pair of running shoes that is suited for my mid-high arched feet.
I purchased an ankle wrap for my chronic sprain.
I had a few hours of sleep so that I won't run like a zombie.
I had a bit of breakfast for a little boost of energy.
I brought my own energy drink so I wouldn't have to fall in line and waste time in the water station.
I donned a pair of shorter shorts so I'd look like a serious runner. lol

I even was able to convince Jimboi to run with me. Yay, I get to share the fun of running with Jimboi!

So off we went to the Fort.

The 16k race was about to start when we arrived. And then it started to rain! And we haven't checked-in our bags yet. I asked my officemate and runningmate Pepe if I could just leave our stuff in his car and he agreed.

We were just on our way to the parking lot when they announced that 5k runners should assemble at the starting line. By the time the announcer said go to signal the start of our race, we were still midway through the parking and the starting line! And so we started running!

It was fun running in the drizzle, it reminded me of my childhood when we used to play and bathe under the rain. Though I hated it that my new shoes are all wet and muddy! haha

Anyway, I swear I wouldn't run in these shorts ever again. Since it was raining, naturally the shorts became wet and then started to become clingy and then the friction caused blisters to my thighs! Ugh!

And then my eyeglasses started collecting raindrops that I couldn't see where I was going anymore. So I decided to just take them off. And then I rubbed my eyes forgetting I applied lotion earlier!

But I didn't mind all this I just ran and ran and ran until I couldn't run no more. I kept waiting for the mark that signals we're already halfway through. I was thinking, "I haven't even reached the middle of the course why am I feeling so exhausted? This can't be." SO I decided to walk a bit, then walk-jog.

And then I heard a marshal said (I swear this is what I've heard): "5k runners this way." And I told myself, "Finally, I'm near the middle" and so I started running again.

I haven't ran that long when I heard another marshal say "5k finishers, form a line here."

Oh shoot, is that it? Am I done already? I looked at my timer and I'm only at 28.08mins, 10 minutes less than my previous time. Wow, is this for real? I actually ran faster despite the rain? Cool!

Plus this group of college (or high school, I'm not sure)cutie guys behind me are part of the La Salle track team (I've heard them talking). And they're wearing tracksuits! Oh my double wow! haha

Jimboi finished waaaaay faster than I did. In fact he was already eating Krispy Kreme and drinking gatorade when I saw him. He claimed he clocked in at 16mins. Boy that's fast! I'm so proud of my Jimboi! :p

After getting our loot bags and other freebies, we proceeded to a breakfast with our running group (oh yes, I'm feeling super sporty I joined a running group! wahahaha). And there I met some famous bloggers! ;p

Then we went home and I spent the rest of Sunday sleeping. (The next day though, my legs didn't hurt as much as it hurt the first time I ran.)

======
As of the moment, the official results are not posted yet. But looking at the race route, I think I didn't ran the whole 5k route because I think I missed a turn. Turned out a lot of other runners missed this turn as well. Oh well! I guess the 10minute improvement from my PR isn't valid afterall. I knew it couldn't be real!

But good thing is there's always the next run to look forward to!

Ready, Set, Run! :P

38:42

Yesterday I wore a singlet, put on a pair of running shoes and sported a short shorts. Because yesterday I ran my first race. Oh yes, I am a runner now!

I was expecting to complete the whole 5km route in an hour but I did it in 38mins and 42 sec. Well, that is according to my timer for the official results posted added 10mins to my "official" time.

Finishing within the third quartile (and not collapsing in the middle of the race), I think I did not do so bad. Especially for a first timer. Especially for a first timer who has no sleep prior the race. (Much as I want to sleep the night before the race, I couldn't. And nope, it wasn't because I was excited. not entirely. I normally sleep at around 4-5am. The race was at 6am so I didn't even get forty winks.)

In fact I think I did a bit good. I wasn't fit. I had little to no preparation. But I still managed to finish ahead of some tall, muscular, hunky guys. So I say great job Fiona!

And I never knew there were a lot of cute runners! Oh my goodness there were a couple of eye candies! In fact I was running side by side with one but a quarter within the race he started pacing fast I couldn't keep up and all I could say (in my mind of course) was "Bye hun, catch you later at the finish line."

I would certainly be running again. Hopefully next time with some sleep, a little more training and a shorter shorts! (And without the anti-climactic finish and the incorrect race time.)

p.s.
I'll leave the medals to seasoned runners. I'm not running to win (coz I know I can't, try as I may). I'd just race for the fun of it, and definitely for the cute guys. :)
Ready, Set, Run!
